Mission Trip to Trinidad 6/30-7/6/07


We were blessed to be able to go on another mission trip with JOY FM the Christian radio station in St. Louis again this year. Larry, Heather and I went to Trinidad (Michael went to Mexico in June). Trinidad is 7 miles north of Venezuela and is considered a Caribbean Island. Their primary religions there are Muslim, Hindu and Christian. There were 50 of us who went and Heather found her long lost sister - Hadassah in Trinidad.
It's a place I would love to go back to...the people are so lost! I have never seen an "idol god" before...wow - this island has some MAJOR darkness! We ministered to so many different people and kids...Larry was sick most of the time from the dust and mold in the stage that our team replaced but he made it through.

The Run…It’s Done!!!

I was emotional leading up to the event and I really thought it was going to be an emotional day for me but it really wasn’t and that was a great relief! I’m trying to stop my mind thinking that healing needs to look like this or that (that I needed to be all emotional for the healing/past of this event to take place). I feel that God had me run for a reason...I’m still trying to process what that reason is. (Maybe there’ll be a “Run for Raped & Sexually Abused Victims”) Nevertheless, I know that God had me run “For such a time as THIS”!!! Maybe you would continue to pray for me that God would reveal anything He wants to from this, that I’ll hear his voice just as clearly as I did when He told me to “Choose to Run”. The run itself was difficult but good. I marveled at the symbolism of the run compared to my true life event – there were 13 miles to symbolize my 13 years before being raped and .10 miles to run to the police station /the end...13.1 never felt SO good!!! (Freedom!!!)

A Mother/Daughter Time Away...

Me & My Girl just spent part of the weekend "away" at a Vicki Courtney, "You & Your Girl" event. It was a mother/daughter simulcast for 5th - 12th graders. The 2 closest churches were a church in Columbia, MO and a church in Springfield, IL...we went to West Side Christian Church in Springfield, IL. It had to be one of the "MOST" amazing churches we had ever been too...it's HUGE!!! The all day event didn't start until 9am on Saturday but I wanted us to have a good nights rest and some mother/daughter bonding time so we headed out a day early. :) We started the event off by heading to Collinsville, IL for the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention...SOOOO fun!!! We both had a great time shopping and doing a make & take. By the time we got done, it was lunch time so we drove through White Castles...nothing but the best for my girl. LOL - It's where she wanted to eat. Works for me...I LOVE White Castles. LOL We arrived in Spring
